19 People are now dead or missing after an explosion at an explosives facility in Humphreys County, Tennessee. The blast was felt from over 15 miles away.

“I always wish for the best,” Davis said. “Is there a possibility that somebody might be injured somewhere, or somebody that we don’t know about? Yes.”

Multiple different investigation organizations have been investigating this explosion. Nearby homes were shaken, and similar explosions were set off by the big explosion.

A previous explosion happened at this facility in 2014, where one person was killed and four others were injured. At that time, several companies had operated on this plant, but it was Rio Ammunition that set off the blast.

Humphreys County Sheriff said that any debris that people find should be given. That’s something we need to get recovered, and because it could have information that we need for the investigation.”

Rescuers had to keep a distance initially as blasts kept going off. When access was obtained, they were able to get in, and first responders and explosive experts started searching the rubble for survivors.

After the blast, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee posted on Twitter saying, “We are monitoring the ongoing situation in Hickman County & state agencies are responding in partnership with local & federal agencies. We ask Tennesseans to join us in prayer for the families impacted by this tragic incident.”

The facility sits on a 1300-acre campus and is beloved around the city.
